dc.description.abstractotrodiomaDiscusses alcohol availability in Mexico, the structure and evolution of alcoholic beverage industries, and production and marketing mechanisms. Changes in per capita consumption, control mechanisms, and regulations created by the government are also described. It is argued that the data are of use to researchers on the problem of alcoholism and to the creators of health policies; however, economic interests are viewed as an obstacle to implementation of health policies against excess consumptiones_ES
